StepCountPro answers one question really well: how far did I walk? Most step converters assume everyone has the same stride. We use your height, gender and whether you walked or ran, so the answer fits you.
How our calculators work
Every tool on this site shares the same model. Walking stride is estimated as 41.3% of height for women and 41.5% for men; running stride is about 25% longer. Distance is steps × stride. When no height is given we use a 2.5 ft average stride. You can always override the estimate with your own measured stride. The full method is explained on the homepage.

- Health claims link to peer-reviewed research or public-health guidance such as the CDC.
- Calorie and running figures are clearly labelled as estimates.
- Pages show a "last updated" date and are reviewed at least every three months.
- Nothing on this site is medical advice — see our disclaimer.
